Boosting the immune system’s response against tumors has been one of the therapeutic approaches researched around the world over the past 20 years. Also known as biological therapy, immunotherapy is becoming one of the main cancer treatments.

It could boost or restore the immune system’s ability to fight cancer. Monoclonal antibodies produced in plants could detect and block specific activity of cancer cells, or find the cancer cells to destroy them, through vaccines and/or therapeutic antibodies that could help regulate the immune response.
